# Instant SMS & Email Notifications After Every Call

> Get an SMS and email notification within 30 seconds of every call ending — with a full summary, action taken, and a link to the transcript.

Stay on top of every call without being tethered to your phone. Ring Jenny sends you an instant SMS and email notification the moment a call ends — so you always know who called, what they needed, and what Ring Jenny did about it.

## What Each Notification Contains

Every notification gives you the full picture at a glance, whether you're reading it on your phone or in your inbox.

<Note>
  Notification delivery typically occurs within **30 seconds** of the call ending. Both SMS and email are sent simultaneously unless you've customized your delivery preferences.
</Note>

## Set Up and Customize Notifications

Notifications are turned on by default the moment your Ring Jenny account is active. To adjust your preferences, go to **Dashboard > Settings > Notifications**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add notification recipients">
    By default, notifications go to the account owner. Click **Add Recipient** to include team members, managers, or any other phone number or email address that should receive alerts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your delivery method">
    For each recipient, choose how they should receive notifications: **SMS only**, **Email only**, or **Both**. Different recipients can have different preferences.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set notification hours">
    Define the window during which SMS notifications should be sent. For example, restrict SMS to **7am–9pm** so your team isn't woken up by late-night call alerts. Email notifications can run on a separate schedule.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure urgent call escalation">
    Mark certain call types as **Urgent** — for example, calls where the caller mentions an emergency, a complaint, or a specific keyword. Urgent notifications bypass your notification hour restrictions and are delivered immediately, any time of day.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Add your whole team to notifications so the right person can follow up quickly. A front-desk call can notify the receptionist while a billing-related call notifies the finance lead — set it up once and let Ring Jenny route the context automatically.
</Tip>

## Notification Customization Options

<Accordion title="Multiple recipients">
  Add as many recipients as you need. Each person can have their own delivery preferences — one team member might prefer SMS only while another wants both SMS and email.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Notification hours (SMS)">
  Set a start and end time for SMS delivery. Calls outside that window still generate notifications — they're just held and delivered as email, or queued for the next SMS delivery window, depending on your settings.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Urgent call escalation">
  Define what makes a call urgent — a keyword, a call type, or a trigger phrase. Urgent calls always notify you immediately, regardless of your notification hour settings. Use this for after-hours emergencies or high-priority callers.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Notification content">
  Choose which fields appear in each notification. Trim it down to just the essentials for SMS, or include the full detail set in email.
</Accordion>

## Caller Confirmations vs. Your Notifications

<Note>
  **These are two separate notification flows.** Your notifications go to you and your team. When Ring Jenny books an appointment, the *caller* automatically receives their own SMS confirmation with the appointment details. These are independent — the caller's confirmation text does not replace your notification, and your notification is not visible to the caller.
</Note>
