Tips for a Great Greeting
Keep it under 10 seconds
Keep it under 10 seconds
Callers want to feel heard quickly. A greeting that runs longer than about 10 seconds can feel like a recording and cause callers to disengage before Ring Jenny even gets to help them. Aim for one sentence — your business name, agent name, and a simple prompt.
Always include your business name
Always include your business name
Callers should know immediately they’ve reached the right place. Including your business name in the first few words eliminates any confusion and builds caller confidence from the very first second.
Avoid jargon and abbreviations
Avoid jargon and abbreviations
Ring Jenny reads your greeting text phonetically. Abbreviations, acronyms, or internal shorthand may be mispronounced. Write out words in full — for example, use “Doctor” instead of “Dr.” and “and” instead of ”&.”
